How to Adopt a Donkey

Adopting a donkey at Rosehaven Farms is simple and rewarding:

1. Browse Our Donkeys: Explore our website or follow us on social media to meet our donkeys and learn about their unique personalities and stories.
2. Choose Your Donkey: Pick from Friend of the Herd, Paddock Pal or Heart of the Herd then choose the donkey you’d like to sponsor.
3. Complete Your Adoption: Finalize your adoption online by selecting your package and making your payment.

Choose Your Adoption Package

Friend of the Herd — $49 per year.

You are officially one of us! You will receive a digital adoption certificate and a welcome letter introducing you to your long-eared companion, plus seasonal updates straight from the paddock and Mitzy’s monthly farm newsletter packed with gossip, antics, and the occasional dramatic hee-haw.

Paddock Pal — $79 per year

A step closer to the fence line. You will receive a printed adoption certificate and welcome letter posted straight to your door, plus a donkey postcard ready to write and send to someone who needs a smile. Ongoing you will enjoy seasonal paddock updates and Mitzy’s monthly newsletter keeping you in the loop on all things farm life.

Heart of the Herd — $120 per year

The full donkey experience, no gumboots required. You’ll receive a premium welcome pack in the post including a printed adoption certificate, a personalised letter written in your donkey’s very own voice, a donkey postcard and a bookmark. You will also get an invitation to visit the farm and meet your donkey in person, and bring a friend along. Ongoing you will enjoy seasonal updates, Mitzy’s monthly newsletter, and priority access to farm videos before anyone else gets to see them.

A Note on Availability – Limited Donkey Adoptions Each Year
To make each adoption feel personal and meaningful, we limit the number of donkeys available for adoption each year.
This helps us give each donkey the spotlight—and gives you a deeper connection with the one you choose.

For 2026, we’ll welcome Tommy, Ziggy, Alli, and Mia.
In 2027, it will be Cruiser, Little Sue, Poppy, and Shadow’s turn.

Once the year is over, those donkeys won’t return to the program until their next featured year—so if one has stolen your heart, don’t wait too long to make them yours.
